Starbucks K Cups – The History Behind Starbucks

First, here’s a little History behind Starbucks – The Starbucks Story

The Starbucks story began in 1971.  The first Starbucks was opened in Seattle, Washington, on March 30, 1971 by three partners:  an English teacher named Jerry Baldwin, a history teacher named Zev Siegl, and a writer named Gordon Bowker.  They were inspired by friend and entrepreneur Alfred Peet, who encouraged them to sell high-quality coffee beans and equipment.  The name of the company is taken from Moby-Dick; after Pequod was rejected by one of the co-founders, the company was named for the first mate on the Pequod, Starbuck.  The logo is also inspired by the sea – featuring a twin-tailed siren from Greek mythology.

With the introduction of Starbucks K Cups – I can guarantee you they will reach many, many more households than we can even imagine.  Keurig has made that possible with their Keurig Single Serving Brewers and Green Mountain and many others have joined in making K cups of all flavors, including Tea, Hot Chocolate, and Cider.  Starbucks K Cups are sure to be a HUGE success, as you may recall, Dunkin Donuts recently released their K Cups – only thing I can say is, I think they are losing out by not sharing them in grocery and retail stores.  Starbucks is offering their K cups at retailers such as Target and Walmart, as well as online.

For all you Starbucks lovers, you should try Starbucks K cups today!  For other flavors and teas, find Green Mountain Coffee K-Cups here.
